"Walking Distance"

The distance which may be covered by a 5- to 10-minute walk, usually one-quarter to one-half mile, at an easy pace from the outer limit of a development to a transit station or activity center. Mostly used while referring to mixed-use development and trying to create a pedestrian-friendly environment.
