How to use Travel Medallion?
Step 1: Obtaining a Travel Medallion
Before traveling to the USA, you need to obtain a Travel Medallion, also known as an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) for visa waiver program countries. You can apply for an ESTA online through the official U.S. Customs and Border Protection website.
Step 2: Completing the Online Application
When completing the online ESTA application, you will need to provide personal information such as your full name, passport details, contact information, travel itinerary, and eligibility questions related to health and security.
Step 3: Paying the Application Fee
There is a processing fee for the ESTA application that needs to be paid online using a credit or debit card before submission. The fee is required for each individual traveler, including children.
Step 4: Waiting for Approval
Once you have submitted your ESTA application and payment, you will need to wait for approval. In most cases, you will receive approval within minutes, but it is recommended to apply at least 72 hours before your trip to allow for any delays.
Step 5: Traveling to the USA
After receiving approval for your Travel Medallion (ESTA), you can travel to the USA. Make sure to bring a printed copy of your ESTA approval with you to present at the port of entry along with your passport.
Using Travel Medallion for Traveling from the USA
Step 1: Checking Travel Requirements
If you are a foreign national traveling from the USA to another country, you need to check the travel requirements for that specific country. Some countries may require a visa or travel authorization similar to the ESTA for entry.
Step 2: Applying for Necessary Documents
Depending on the destination, you may need to apply for a visa, transit visa, or other travel documents. Make sure to research the entry requirements well in advance and apply for the necessary documents accordingly.
Step 3: Presenting Travel Medallion at Departure
When departing from the USA, you may be required to present your Travel Medallion (ESTA approval) at the airport or border control. Make sure to have a printed copy of your ESTA approval along with your passport for verification.
Step 4: Compliance with Travel Regulations
During your travel from the USA, it is essential to comply with all travel regulations and requirements set by the destination country. Failure to meet the entry requirements could result in denied entry or deportation.
Step 5: Validity and Renewal
It is important to note that the Travel Medallion (ESTA) is typically valid for two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. If your ESTA expires or your passport expires, you will need to reapply for a new Travel Medallion before traveling to the USA.
